with White. But Gelfand's play is anyway very dynamic, and it is clear that
the Israeli will be ready to punish any mistake from his opponent. Let's not
forget that Gelfand had more problems with Black, but also played riskier

Match de Rápidas Lékó-Belfand, Miskolc, 24-29 Agosto

O grande mestre húngaro Peter Leko convidou o grande mestre israelita Boris Gelfand para um match de partidas semi-rápidas na cidade húngara de Miskolc de 24 a 29 de Agosto.

O match tem o patrocínio do Presidente da Câmara de Mikolsc que escreveu para o sítio oficial algumas palavras de referência:

O Lékó & … match de xadrez de semi-rápidas é realizado pela 6ª vez na cidade de Mikolsc com o maior prazer. Desta vez o adversário de Péter Lékó é o candidato ao campeonato do mundo por diversas vezes e o campeão a Taça do Mundo do último ano, Boris Gelfand de Israel. O prestigiado duelo será disputado, como costume, no Teatro Nacional de Mikolsc que tem uma atmosfera especial elevando a importância do evento.

É bem sabido que o xadrez também tem grandes tradições em Mikolsc, a terceira maior cidade da Hungria, por ter tido uma equipa campeã nacional por diversas vezes e diversos jogadores de nível internacional ou são originários de Mikolsc ou ainda residirem aqui. Além disso temos orgulho em afirmar que  Péter Lékó abriu aqui a sua primeira escola de xadrez.

Peter Leko que já disputou matchs contra Michael Adams, em 2005 [4-4], Anatoly Karpov, em 2006 (4½-3½), Vladimir Kramnik, em 2007 (3½-4½),  Maguns Carlsen, em 2008 (3-5) e Viswanathan Anand, em 2009 (3-5), procura a segunda vitória que lhe escapa desde 2006.

De acordo com as regras do match, disputam-se duas partidas por dia, de brancas e de pretas, com descanso ao terceiro para cerimónias públicas. As partidas, disputadas diariamente, às 16.00h e às 17.30h (hora de Portugal), são transmitidas em directo no sítio oficial do match Lékó-Gelfand.

À entrada do último dia para disputar a 5ª e a 6ª partidas, Peter Leko está a perder por 2½-3½[+1 3= -2].

A corretora de apostas desportivas bwin é a única que aceita apostas para cada partida deste match. As vitórias de pretas valem cerca do dobro das vitórias de brancas e quatro vezes mais do que os empates.

Curiosamente mais de metade das apostas segundo a iapostas (sítio que disponibiliza informação sobre análises, estatísticas, comparação de apostas…) são de empates nas 7ª e 8ª partidas (ambas com 56%) e uma ligeira diferença entre Leko (29%) e Gelfand (27%) para as brancas. As apostas em Leko ou Gelfand com as pretas não recolhe mais de 15% e 16%, respectivamente, das preferências dos apostadores, o que ainda assim está acima da realidade deste match, em que nenhum dos grandes mestres conseguiu triunfar até ao momento de pretas.

Aparentemente as apostas não estão a reflectir o “histórico” de Peter Leko, onde as suas vitórias não abundam nem de pretas [nunca ganhou nas 23 partidas disputadas até ao momento, exluíndo uma com Adams, em 2005] nem de brancas porque desde Kramnik em 2007 que não vence] nem o presente match onde apenas se regista uma vitória de brancas na 4ª partida.

Em termos de estatísticas estes números valem o que valem, mas estas não são baseadas em expectativas ou especulações dos encontros como as apostas, mas retiradas dos resultados no tabuleiro.
