Kramnik vence London Chess Classics 2011

Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) venceu o mais forte torneio de xadrez de 2011 ! O Empate na última ronda contra Levon Aronian (Arménia) decidiu o assunto.

Kramnik terminou o torneio com 16 pontos. Em segundo lugar com menos 1 ponto ficou Hikaru Nakamura (USA).

O primeiro do ranking mundial, Magnus Carlsen, que tinha ganho as duas edições anteriores do torneio, fez 14 pontos ficando em 3º lugar.

Um dos destaques do torneio foi o inglês Luke McShane que ficou em 4º lugar ao fazer 13 pontos, enquanto o atual campeão mundial Viswanathan Anand ficou somente em 5º lugar com 9 pontos.

O London Chess Classics 2011 foi realizado no centro de conferências de Olympia com controles de tempo clássicos: quarenta lances em duas horas seguido de vinte lances numa hora e trinta minutos para o restante jogo.

Uma vitória marcava três pontos, um empate 1 e uma derrota 0.

Critérios de desempates:

1) número de vitórias
2) número de vitórias com pretas,
3) resultado do jogo entre os jogadores vinculados.

O prémio total do torneio é de €160.000, sendo €50.000 para o vencedor.

Vladimir Kramnik vs. Robot…

Robô russo joga xadrez contra Vladimir Kramnik

O ex-campeão mundial e GM Vladimir Kramnik jogou uma partida de xadrez blitz com um Robot criado pelo treinador de xadrez russo Konstantin Kosteniuk, (que treina a sua filha Alexandra, que é a actual campeã Mundial de Xadrez).

Este Robot está ligado a um poderoso computador que analisa, move a peça e depois pressiona rapidamente o relógio. "É como um jogador profissional real" disse Kramnik,

O jogo, que terminou com um empate.

Este robot de Kosteniuk também jogar contra até três tabuleiros ao mesmo tempo! Como se não bastasse, ele coloca as peças capturadas em caixas separadas !

From now on Kramnik started to think some five minutes per move. I think the text move shouldn't be the only one to equalize, though Black must pay some attention due to White's space advantage. 19...Bc6!?

Giving the c-pawn for long-term compensations. This reminds, for instance, of some of the positions in the Bc4-Ne2 line in the Grunfeld. Black's safe development and pressure on the c-file is enough to compensate for an extra c-pawn. [19...Be8!?] 20.Qxc5 Nd7 21.Qa5 Rfc8 22.Qxc7. I think after this move, White has no winning chances at all. 22.0-0!? should be a better try, though Black should be able to draw by force, somehow. 22...Rxc7 23.Nd4 Bxe4.
